About Our Trip:

Everything you need to know about joining us on this excursion to Washington, D.C.

Description:

In the culmination of our Fall 2023 session on Biological Anthropology: Animal Adaptations,  STEM Skool will be venturing out on an amazing field trip to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and other museums across the DMV metropolitan area! View our itinerary below.

Monday, November 27th - Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10 am @ the Q?rius Classroom: 5th-12th Graders - Deep Time Paleobiology

Have you ever wondered what the world looked like when the dinosaurs were alive? We invite students to join our paleontologists here at the National Museum of Natural History in reconstructing past ecosystems by studying and working with real 66-million-year-old microfossils.

11:30 am @ the Q?rius Classroom: 1st-5th Graders - Animal Adaptations

Discover how animals adapt to their environment by looking closely and making observations of animal specimens from the museum’s collections. Students use observations and background knowledge to make inferences about how those adaptations help the animal to survive in its environment.

Tuesday, November 28th- Lunch in Chinatown, The National Mall, and U.S. Capitol Tours

Please check your email to see what time your group will be touring the U.S. Capitol (2:40 pm or 3 pm). Please arrive at 2 pm and bring a photo ID.

Wednesday, November 29th - Smithsonian National Zoological Park (D.C. Zoo).

Reserve your entry pass here.

Please keep checking this page throughout our trip. We will continue to add updates as they become available.

See you in D.C.!
